Feather pillows are one of the most common types of pillows, but for some people expensive. Before buying such pillows, and exposing yourself to getting what you originally expected from them, you should read this blog and inform yourself.
Can feather pillows be washed?
Yes, they can. Because of the size, these pillows can fit in every dishwasher. Because the material used to fill these pillows is natural, apart from being fluffy, these pillows are quite durable and they can maintain a soft texture without too many difficulties.
How to wash feather pillows
NO MATTER WHAT, wash two pillows at a time (helps keep the spin cycle balanced)
ALWAYS remove covers (pillowcases for example)
CHECK if pillows have any rips, if so needle and thread them before washing
TO PREVENT harming the feathers, wash with cool/warm temperature
DO NOT EVER add any soap with chemicals or extra additives
WITHOUT EXCEPTION, rinse the pillows so you don't sleep with soap over your body
REMEMBER that the higher the speed, the higher the amount of moisture removed
Where can you buy feather pillows?
Pretty much every time anyone asks me where to buy pillows I answer the same thing: on Amazon. Why I say this is very simple: you can buy from pretty much every company, it is a reliable marketplace and it is brought to you, wherever you ask it to be sent.
On this page you'll have access to some reviews on pillows sold by Amazon, check them out if you want!!
Are feather pillows expensive?
Normally, because of the materials, they are made out of, down and feather pillows are compared and are considered very alike. Taking this into account, feather pillows are cheaper and are also quite soft pillows. On average, these often cost from $25 to $50, which is three times las than what a latex pillow costs.
Given into account their fill material, ability to wash, durability, softness, and lightweight, these are not especially expensive. What's more, they are considered to be a cheap alternative for down pillows.
Are feather pillows hypoallergenic?
Thanks to the process of cleaning these pillows, they are hypoallergenic. But the problem is that these will not stay allergen-free. The more these pillows are used, the more substances such as dust (ideal for allergens to thrive) will stay in the covers and the pillow itself. Thus, it is essential that you clean these regularly. If you're sensible in terms of allergies, I would recommend at least, once a month.
What are the symptoms that show you're allergic to feather pillows?
.In most feather pillows, it's the Dust mites that cause allergies. But most people never even know this, as these are tiny creatures. They feed on dead skin cells, and what they can cause you are a variety of symptoms, among them, sneezing watery eyes, and difficulty breathing (especially when exercising).
If you suspect, after reading this, that you're allergic to these types of pillows then do this:
Wash your pillow in hot water
Let it dry with sunlight (all possible Dust mites will be dead now)
See if you're still experiencing the mentioned symptoms
If you are, then maybe you're allergic to another thing, not feather pillows. But if these stop, then you probably are.
